It should come as no surprise that the New Orleans Saints would trade up in the NFL Draft. That’s exactly how the second round went on Friday, with the Saints moving up to the 48th overall pick to take Texas A&M center Erik McCoy.
In order to get that pick, the Saints sent its original second-round pick, the 202nd pick (sixth round), and a 2020 second-round pick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the 48th pick and a fourth-rounder (No. 116).
McCoy started all 39 games of his college career at Texas A&M with all but two starts coming at the center position and didn’t allow a single sack in his career.
