Cabbage Casserole:
Ingredients:
2 medium Heads of green cabbage
1lb. Ground beef
1lb. Ground Pork
1large White onion (chopped)
3-4 cloves Garlic (chopped)
1-28oz Cento tomato sauce
2 cups White rice (medium grain)
Louisiana Love to taste
Olive oil
Method:
Preheat oven to 375°
Bring large pot of water to boil.
Split cabbage heads in half leaving the stem intact.
Boil halves until soft, 5-7 minutes.
Remove and allow to cool.
In a large bowl combine beef, pork, onions, garlic, tomato sauce, rice, and ¼ cup of Louisiana Love Seasoning.
Coat a heavy roasting pan with olive oil.
Cut the stem out of each cabbage half, separate the leaves, and add enough to pan to cover bottom.
Alternate meat mixture and cabbage.
Cover with foil if pan does not have a lid, and pierce 5-6 small holes.
Bake for 20-30 minutes until rice is soft.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
